MOUNTAIN GARDENERS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

for THE RENA CHERNICK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

~~INFORMATION~~

This year the Valley Garden Club – The Mountain Gardeners –is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a student who plans to or is studying gardening-related subjects in his/her/their further studies after high school.

These could include such areas of study as:

• horticulture
• agriculture
• forestry
• botany
• creating value – added products such as cheese or new products from locally grown plants and animals
• landscape design/architecture
• environmental law
• climate change
• ecology
• green architecture
• alternative renewable energy sources
• environmental engineering

Applications may be found in the guidance offices of HUHS or GMVS or at the Joslin, Warren, or Moretown libraries or by downloading the application below. Applications should be returned to Carol Hosford at crhosford@madriver.com or 1172 Rolston Road, Waitsfield, VT 05673. The applications must be received by Friday, May 12, 2023.

This scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are residents of Warren, Fayston, Waitsfield, and Moretown and who attend Harwood Union High School, Green Mountain Valley School, MYSA, Barre Technical Center, and Rice or who are home schooled. It is also available to resident students who are already attending institutions of further learning such as colleges or tech schools.
